Abstract

In December 2019, Bengkulu City experienced inflation of 0.59 percent. Based on the monitoring of the Central Statistics Agency in 82 cities in Indonesia, 72 cities experienced inflation and 10 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Batam by 1.28 percent and the lowest inflation in Watampone by 0.01 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Manado by 1.88 percent and the lowest occurred in Bukit Tinggi and Singkawang by 0.01 percent.
Bengkulu City inflation in December 2019 occurred in all expenditure groups. The expenditure group that experienced the highest inflation was the transportation, communication and financial services expenditure group by 2.01 percent, followed by the health expenditure group by 0.61 percent, the processed food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco expenditure group with inflation by 0.57 percent, the group housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel expenditure by 0.27 percent, the clothing expenditure group by 0.14 percent, the education, recreation and sports expenditure group by 0.05 percent and the food expenditure group with inflation by 0.03 percent.
With inflation of 0.59 percent in December 2019, the magnitude of calendar year inflation (inflation rate) was 2.91 percent, and annual inflation (year on year) was recorded at 2.91 percent.
