Abstract

  • In March 2019, the City of Bengkulu experienced a deflation of -0.23 percent. Based on the monitoring of the Central Statistics Agency in 82 cities in Indonesia, 31 cities experienced deflation and 51 cities experienced inflation. The highest deflation occurred in Tual by -3.03 percent and the lowest deflation in Palembang, Batam and Sampit was -0.01 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Ambon at 0.86 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Bekasi and Tangerang by 0.01 percent.
  • The Bengkulu City deflation in March 2019 occurred in two expenditure groups and five expenditure groups experienced inflation. The expenditure group that experienced the highest deflation was the transportation, communication and financial services expenditure group of -1.88 percent and the education, recreation and sports expenditure group with inflation of -0.01 percent. While the expenditure group that experienced the highest inflation was clothing expenditure by 0.80 percent, followed by health expenditure group at 0.56 percent for food expenditure group by 0.29 percent, processed food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco expenditure group by 0.11 percent and the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by 0.02 percent.
  • With this deflation of -0.23 percent in March 2019, the inflation rate for the calendar year (inflation rate) is 0.36 percent, and annual inflation (year on year) is 1.65 percent.
